Some people shy away from winter weddings. Obviously snow and cold can be a factor, but at the same time, they can make your Big Day absolutely stunning. This beauty captured by Jill Devries Photography is proof that sunshine and sand aren't required for a fabulous, fun, and perfectly pretty wedding day. The cozy shrugs, black and red color scheme and 'frosty' wedding decorations are simply lovely. Enjoy!

popsicleplacecards1.jpg
Summer seems far away as we are all layering up on these mid-winter days. And so I bring you a sweet taste of summer. Popsicles in the summer sun, anyone?

These cuties found on Eat Drink Chic were created to be used as a memory card game but the first thing I thought of was how great they'd be as place cards at your summer wedding. You could even string them together as garland around the dessert table --where you would of course have popsicles to offer. Yummy.

Aren't they sweet? Print these out for free over at Eat Drink Chic and use as far as your imagination will take you. Summer will come soon, I promise!

Happy Friday! I have some news that will get your weekend shopping spree off to a fabulous start. Recently, I told you about The Dessy Group's launch of NewlyMaid. NewlyMaid is a service that helps you find your perfect little black dress while donating your never-to-be-worn-again bridesmaid dress.

newlymaidlogo400.jpgNewlymaidCollage1.jpgOver the past few months we've asked our NewlyMaid customers for their thoughts on the service. They spoke. We listened. Now, we are happy to share a new and improved experience:

No credits required
Buy a dress and get it ASAP! You no longer need credits to purchase a LBD (little black dress). We'll include a free prepaid mailer for your bridesmaid dress in the package.

Lower pricing
We've adjusted our pricing to offer you the best value, and we still cover the processing cost for your old dress. How can we lower our prices? Our LBDs are manufacturer-direct, so there's no retailer markup.

Your choice: Send us your dress---or not.
The original NewlyMaid let you exchange an old dress for a credit toward a new one. But many customers had second thoughts. If your'e not ready to part with your old dress, just keep it until you are. There's no obligation to send us a dress once you've purchased a NewlyMaid style.

International shipping:
NewlyMaid now accepts orders from outside the U.S. You can find all of the details on international orders here.

Now, about those must-have LBDs.....your only problem will be in choosing your favorite(s)!

NewlymaidCollage2.jpgWe hope you like the changes we've made, and we look forward to seeing you over at NewlyMaid.com!

Lulu recently contacted me to share with all of you her Dessy bridesmaid dress wedding. When I saw the pictures of she and her husband's, Mike, stunning wedding day I couldn't wait to share her story with all of you. Enjoy!

Where was the wedding held?
I'm half Swedish and half English and grew up in Sweden, so we chose to get married near where I grew up and where Mike proposed to me. So, we found the beautiful Hogberga Gard, a manor house hotel on the island of Lidingo just north of Stockholm, Sweden.

MikeandLuLu1.jpgMikeandLuLu2.jpgMikeandLuLu3.jpg
What was the process of choosing your bridesmaid dresses?

I had poured over British, Swedish and US wedding magazines for a couple of years to get inspiration for our Wedding Day. We tried on dresses from different suppliers to see what styles suited my four bridesmaids the best. Although I started off wit a blank canvas, it became clear that even if the dresses were different sytles it would be nice to have dresses in the same material and color.

MikeandLuLu4.jpgMikeandLuLu5.jpg
My final consideration was that one of my bridesmaids had moved from England to New York, so we needed to be able to source dresses from the same supplier where we were guaranteed that the dress color was going to be the same shade as those ordered in the UK.

So, Dessy stood out for 5 reasons:

1. The incredibly wide range of dres styles would make it more likely for all the bridesmaids to find a dress that suited thier body shage and that they would like.

2. The Pantone colors made me feel more confident that we'd get the same shade of dress material even if we ordered the dresses in different countries.

3. Word of mouth. Three of my friends got married before me and they all had Dessy bridesmaid dresses.

4. I'd seen a few Dessy dresses advertised that suited the look I wanted.

5. My bridesmaids looked gorgeous in them and felt great!

Anything else you'd like to say about your wedding day?

Our wedding day was just perfect. The meticulous planning that went into the event before hand made it run very smoothly. So, on the day we could concentrate on simply enjoying every special minute of the Big Day, and spend time with our amazing 75 family and friends who had travelled from around the world to celebrate with us in Stockholm.

MikeandLuLu7.jpgMikeandLuLu8.jpgMikeandLuLu9.jpgPhotography by Nick Sumner Photography

The best moment of the day was seeing Mike waiting at the end of the aisle. The sun was shining, the Baltic Sea was shimmering and he was smiling. From that moment on I don't think either of us stopped smiling! It was the best day of my life.

**Thanks so much to Lulu and Mike for sharing your beautiful wedding day with us!

Yep. It's official. Lace is in. And this bride has done it beautifully with this amazing lace wedding dress captured by Arrow and Apple Photography. The wide straps and detailed buttons are simply gorgeous while the mismatched bridesmaid dresses have that nice comfortable feel. Then, there's the cake. Lovely, with bright pops of color from the cherries and berries. Most definitely in love with this wedding. What's your favorite detail?
