Summer Wedding Bummers
While getting married in summer connotes many beautiful images: sunset kisses, sailboat backdrops, and outdoor champagne toasts, there are a few sticky situations that can mar the bliss of summer nuptials. Not to worry, bridesmaid.com tells you how to avoid the most common fierce weather foibles:
Allergies. I have been to weddings where my allergies were so bad I was crying harder than the bride throughout the entire outdoor ceremony. Lest your attendants sneeze like that notorious seventh dwarf, provide your girls with gorgeous embroidered handkerchiefs as bridesmaids gifts. Easily tucked into bridesmaids’ dresses or stored among bouquets, elegant little hankies help keep the sniffles away.
Buzzing insects. Outdoor wedding can illicit unwanted guests in the form of insects. But the rules of summer weddings are finite: no bees or any other creatures, even ones wearing bridesmaids dresses, can be allowed to linger. Lest some flies show up who like, totally did not RSVP, arm an usher with a trusty flyswatter. Hey, if they’re not on the guest list, they’re not on the guest list.
Melting wedding cake. Outdoor weddings are often low on culinary supplies and cool storage places. To keep your wedding cake from melting like cheap makeup, consider serving adorable custom cookies instead. Perfect for a beach wedding or destination wedding, these durable desserts will withstand any weather.

Wedding Season Survival Strategy
It’s June, and wedding season is in full bloom. If, like ours, your mailbox is overflowing with wedding invites, it’s time to employ bridesmaid.com's foolproof Wedding Season Survival Strategy. Step 1: Invest in a gorgeous “guest gown”. Inspired by the bridesmaids dresses theory, we say wedding guests deserve new duds as well. Much like modern bridesmaids dresses, this dress should be a smokin’ hot gown that you can wear to every wedding this summer and feel fabulous. 2: Invest in a hot man to take you. This guide will help you know what to look for. 3: If you can’t find a hot man, invest in a Swiss army knife to ward off tipsy groomsmen. While knives make popular bridesmaids gifts, they also work great as a single girl defense weapon. 4: If all fails, imbibe merrily and dance like no one’s watching. That’s what we at bridesmaid.com would do.

Casual Bridesmaids Dresses, Chic Accessories
It’s official: bridesmaids’ dresses are getting more casual. Fewer ruffles, less length, and bridesmaid separates as well as dresses means a simpler, more versatile look over all. But brides still want their bridesmaids to look unified, and that’s where bridal accessories become key. A simple bridesmaid's dress is chic, but make sure to bestow your attendants with matching accessories as bridesmaids’ gifts to get the tied-together look you want.

Personalization is a sweet idea, but let’s face it: all those personalized cake toppers and hand-crafted wedding invitations can get a little over the top. Here’s a couple cool ways to personalize your big day that don’t cost a thing: write your own vows, let your pet walk you down the aisle or be ringbearer, or let your bridesmaids choose their own bridesmaids’ dresses. Ways to Get Back at the Bride II
Here’s another idea for hideous bridesmaids dress payback: At the reception, immediately commandeer the microphone and give the longest, weirdest toast you can think of. Finish by spilling your champagne on your bridesmaid dress and then saying “Oh god, that looks so much better.” If she chose you a particularly awful dress, don’t be afraid to let a few drops sprinkle on her wedding dress as well.

Ways to Get Back at the Bride
If your bride is guilty of picking out the most ugly bridesmaid dresses in history, here are a few ingenious ways to pay her back on the big day. Idea number one: At the last minute, eschew your bridesmaid dress in favor of the same or similar wedding dress to the bride. Better yet, get an even prettier one. Since you walk down the aisle first, there’ll be nothing she can do to stop you. When she begins her vows, mimic her every word behind her back with wild hand gestures. When laughter erupts, gaze demurely into your bouquet.

Hope your Bridesmaids’ Dresses were Insured
Even if you survive wearing your bridesmaid’s dress, others in the wedding party may not be so lucky. Such was the case of an Iranian couple who were engaging in the ethnic wedding tradition of feeding each other honey. Things went from sweet to sour when the groom accidentally bit off the bride’s artificial fingernail, choked on it and died. The moral? Bridesmaids, keep the tags on your bridesmaids’ dresses. Brides? Go acrylic.
