Celebrities get hitched all the time these days. It seems absolutely natural that they would meet each other, date, fall in love, and marry, right? After all, celebrities have a right to want to share their lives with someone else who understands what it’s like to live in the spotlight if they want to. The cool part, I’d say, about celebrity weddings is that they tend to be relatively extravagant. Going above and beyond the norm with weddings seems to be the expertise of celebrities when they marry. That’s exactly why I’m starting this celebrity wedding spotlight section here on the site.
Today’s spotlight is Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. These two lovebirds tied the knot back in 2002. Both musicians who had been successful in the rock industry, they always seemed like quite the perfect match to me.
THE STORY:
Gwen was 32 and Gavin was 34 at the time of their wedding. They dated for 6 years after having met backstage in 1995 before Gavin finally popped the question to her-on New Years Day. The two married in both London and Los Angeles. London was the intimate wedding for close friends and family while the Los Angeles wedding was designed for their celebrity and industry friends in California. They kept the wedding under tight wraps until it was over and done with as to avoid unwanted media attention.
